Utake Dj's LLC, is a premier urban entertainment company dedicated to providing quality events. Our mission is to exceed our client expectations whether it's live concerts, corporate functions, sporting events, non-profit community events & any special occasions like weddings, birthdays, graduations, holiday celebrations etc.
Other Utake Djs services include providing sound solutions for various occasions. We also provide print designing for Branded t-shirts, videos production and editing through our affiliate partners.

Dj Slim

Stepping into the shoes of an absent DJ at an Oakland house party introduced this young DJ to his first major audience and by the end of his first set, he had been re-baptized as DJ Slim your number one African Urban DJ by the host, Filmmaker Michael Wanguhu. Born and raised in Africa DJ Slim grew up like many other Africans, hooked on music and fascinated by the dance floor. He began to work the turntables when he moved to the U.S in 2001 and found himself in an apartment with the machines. Daily sessions at the helm of the turntables allowed him to sharpen his skills and when he took over at the house party, an impromptu deejaying session, he realized he had truly come a long way and had really carved out his niche.

In 2007, he helped to form Utakedjs with his Long time Mentor and Partner DJ Johnny Blaze, a DJ unit based in Oakland, CA that specializes in most types of events from clubs, weddings, birthdays and cooperate events. Invited to spin at various functions allowed him to further hone his skills. Taking his cues from so many DJ’s he has met in his deejaying career pushed him to take his skills beyond the basic CD/vinyl switching of an amateur DJ. Spinning with various media, including vinyl records, CD’s and using Serrato, his repertoire expanded and Slim was soon holding his own with big name headliners at various events. Come any big holiday you will find Dj Slim spinning his magic on the east and westcoast where he along with DJ Johhny Blaze host the biggest African urban events .

To try and describe Slim’s style of music wouldn’t be doing him justice. No two of Slims performances are the same. As he evolves over time so does his music and skills. Its funky, urban, unique and very diverse.
